  • Stock Monitoring & Control: Tracking inventory levels to prevent shortages (stockouts) and overstock situations, ensuring accurate, real-time data.
  • Order Management: Creating, tracking, and reconciling purchase orders to replenish stock efficiently.
  • Operational Optimization: Developing and enforcing inventory procedures, including conducting regular physical cycle counts and auditing.
  • Logistics & Receiving: Supervising the receiving, storing, and shipping of products, including warehouse organization. (In tandem with receiving team)

Buying Team - Board Games + Tabletop Games - Full Time - Ottawa (Blackwell)

  • Supplier Management: Identifying, evaluating, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors to ensure reliable supply.
  • Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiating prices, payment terms, and service agreements to reduce costs without compromising relationships.
  • Procurement Operations: Creating, reviewing, and processing purchase orders.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages, tracking shipments, and verifying deliveries - work directly with our inventory team.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyzing market trends, proposals, and reports for predicting future purchases.

This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, fast-paced, and comfortable working with large volumes of trading cards or similar collectibles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming single cards from buylists with speed and accuracy
  • Sort cards by set, condition, and inventory requirements
  • Verify card condition and authenticity according to company standards
  • Organize and store inventory to maintain an efficient workflow
  • Accurately input and update inventory data in internal systems
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily and weekly processing targets
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Identify discrepancies in orders and escalate when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy at high speed
  • Familiarity with trading cards (e.g., TCGs like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, etc.) is an asset
